I make work that I feel is relevant at this time. My work can be quite fun and the way in which issues are dealt with is often evasive or unexpected.

My video artwork deals with contemporary psychology and interaction between human beings. It explores neurosis and insecurities from an ambivalent position. The works use real-life images and recorded conversations as well as acted scenarios to explore characteristics. I make work that reflects the reality that I can see around me. For example insecure characters that are worried about issues, grinning faces performing for the camera, or people talking about mundane and everyday issues in a coffee shop.

The work is often critical, but can also be totally celebratory; it is the collision of these two aspects that enables the viewer to form their own opinion.

The Character Julian has just lost his job and comes to a bizarre and unexplained gathering of people in a community hall. The evening is hosted by a seemingly benevolent, very attractive young lady. Through the absctract circumstance, documentary style camerwork and biased editing we begin to see Julian's character breakdown to reveal the insecurity beneath his arrogant exterior.

Adam is another guest at the same evening as Julian, and his character is explored in a similar way. Adam is always courteous and polite, but is an extremely sensitive character. His reaction to the interactions and events of the evening serves as a metaphor of how unfulfilled he is by his own life, but how he does not have the strength to change it. Adam is a tragic character, as he is always trying, but cannot admit that he is not living up to his own expectations. Through this second version of the evening the biased editing is slightly exposed as we see the story from a different side.
